Clean your air conditioner's filter when your AC is being used regularly, especially in the peak of the summer season. If you have fur-bearing pets in your home your AC filter may need to be cleaned or replace more often. Dusty environments also lead to AC filters needing to be replaced more often. This isn't a bad thing though, because you can lower your air conditioner's energy consumption by 5% to 15% just by cleaning or replacing the filter!
